Back in 2006, when Sourav made a comeback against a domestic South African side, I remember having goosebumps. Of exhilaration. Today it feels the same all over again. I am a blind SRT fan. But Sourav gets all my unadulterated respect for being a MAN. A rebel. A hero- failed, misunderstood, but a hero nonetheless. He is not perfect as a cricketer or as a person. But then, the imperections are what make him all the more endearing to us, I guess. Somehow, just somehow, Sourav has yet again showed us what indomitable spirit can do. Yeah, yeah, it's IPL, just an innings of 32, he wasn't at his fluent best, we shouldn't go all gaga........I agree. Still, there is a feeling of serene conviction. A silent shake of fist that says yes, there's still hope. That there can always be the next shot at redemption. In this era so devoid of heroes, Sourav, I guess you did all us believers a world of good. By teaching us not to give up. SRTs are few and far between. But we all can ignite a Sourav in our hearts. Thanks Sourav.
Shine on you crazy diamond, shine on.............
